Important things to note about San as a MAIN dancer:
- San joined KQ without any dance skills, and through his own work, developed and honed his skills and paved a way for himself as a standout dancer.
- San announced in his pop live dated 31st December 2023 that the members have discussed and acknowledge him as a main dancer.
- As early as April 2020, San was given the title of ‘The man who will upgrade the standard of K-pop performance’ in Stone Entertainment’s K-pop Idol Election Result, for the Art Culture Promotion Category.
- SH: it became popular recently (san’s fireworks performance)
WY: one of san’s strengths is when san is captured on screen, he has the ability to capture peoples attention.
WY: san plays that role in our group.

Facial expressions/story Telling
To be a dancer that also performs on stage, storytelling is very important.
Just doing choreography isn’t enough; facial expressions and emoting are essential.
This is what sets San apart as a dancer – he’s not just doing the choreography like any k-pop idol is directed to do, he’s truly DANCING.
When watching performances, there’s always an element in storytelling from the dancing, where blank expressions on stage or stiff movements are a big NO!.
Storytelling is reflected in body movements not just the face – storytelling can be done through adding one’s own flare or style to a performance – something that San definitely does.
San puts a lot of thought into how he can dance according to the meaning of the songs he performs, like he said he did with inception [video here].
In your head you have to picture yourself as not a dancer, but someone who is living through the circumstances of the lyrics the song is expressing.
San can apply these emotional elements of modern/lyrical (which is typically more soft/fluid and ballet-esque) with kpop or hip-hop choreography that is full of sharper movements.
San as a performer is very unique for this reason.
One of the best examples of his storytelling abilities outside of performing on a stage is his choreographing of Warriors.
